Let them be Strong(ER)
People working in the SDLC are drawn to some activities more than others because they do them well and they make them feel good, i.e. they create emotional resonance (ER). But many software development organizations are not concerned with how their development teams feel about their work. They just want them to get the work done. But what do you think would happen if a software development organization gave their people the ability to identify their strengths and purposefully, strategically put them to work in the SDLC?
You know what would happen. People would become more self-aware and empowered to exhibit near perfect performance over and over again. They would not only be Strong, they would get Strong(ER) … and teams of Strong(ER) people can produce some pretty remarkable software.
